DTP/Pre-press Operator

Job Description

Full DTP/pre-press function within a large format digital printing company. Mac based. This role requires proficiency in checking client-supplied artwork, preparing files for various large format printers and cutting machines, and resolving printing issues in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Apple Mac Experience
• Qualified DTP Pre Press Operator with a minimum of five years' DTP/Repro experience from the industry (Large format/Digital Printing/Similar Print environment)
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
• Must have own transport
• Proficient in checking client supplied artwork, quality, sizes etc.
• Ability to judge where print bleed and add it
• Knowledge of setting up files for print, cut files for various large format printers and cutting machines
• Knowledge of point of sale, display systems etc.
• Ability to work under pressure within a team environment
• Photo editing, photo retouching, colour matching to Epson proofs
• Ability to resolve (creatively if required) any printing issues which typically arise in a fast-paced printing environment

Responsibilities

• Perform full DTP/pre-press functions
• Check client-supplied artwork for quality and size specifications
• Add print bleed as necessary
• Set up files for print and cutting machines (large format)
• Manage photo editing, retouching, and colour matching to proofs
• Troubleshoot and resolve printing issues
